About me

Welcome: I created this site to allow others to easily see what I do, and to use it as a location to store references and what I am currently working on for applications.

Available times: To start I live in Australia thus my times online are based upon the timezone (http://www.timeanddate.com/time/map/#!cities=47) I am actively online for 6+ hours a day however I am accessible for 12+ hours via email if necessary.

What do I do?: During my free time I moderate / administrate various games, sites and chats. My current projects are listed in the “Links/Current projects” page

Why do I do it?: In my opinion this is the most important question to ask as it shows the persons motivation. After reflecting on this I have come to the conclusion that I moderate to help improve and support the community to the best of my ability. To resolve issues and help everyone possible to get the best experience from the specific site or game and lastly to earn respect from others from my actions, not words.

Current goals: As life is taking over, I currently have no goals.

In addition to the above I do the following none-internet moderation/assistance:

I help to run clan and RotD in Warcraft 3 RoC and TFT and moderate their appropriate chats.

(Twitch channels available on request.)

Experience / Reflection

From my moderating experience so far I have learned many things, some I shall list below:

If you are debating with a troll they have already won.

If it doesn’t affect peoples experience in the community is it really necessary to be stopped?

Keep your personal opinion of a person out of all decisions.

If you can’t stand someone calling you names within reason, you shouldn’t be a moderator.

If you aren’t part of the community how are you supposed to accurately and effectively moderate it. Therefore talk to the chat and learn.

Moderators serve their respective community, they should put the members of said community before themselves in all decisions.

I have a few areas I need to work on:

Patience is a virtue… Which I could do with a little more of.

Contact: I am available with microphone on Skype (ID_ied)  or basically any Voice chat, I also am accessible via email (Contact@ldied.com) via the provided address or the form below. Lastly I can be contacted via Steam on my mobile at any time (Here)

My Avatar

My avatar: ID_ied
For those of you who don’t know about it (The majority) I shall explain the origin of my avatar. It originated from when I edited a popular map called Island Defense in Warcraft 3 RoC. In addition to that I assisted a clan called IDRP (Island Defense RoC Pros) and decided I wanted my avatar to be ID…something? Then from that I decided _ied would make it a fun play on words. Therefore my avatar is ID_ied, Island Defense / I Died. I also use alternate accounts such as LD_ied as in-game they are indistinguishable.
